Greetings Minecrafters! On this Featured Build Tuesday, I came across this village built by _Sonicknight35. While I am one that normally doesn't like how holidays push into others (Christmas is really bad about that), I couldn't help but like this map.
Weary from your travels, you begin to detect the faint smell of baking bread on the wind. As the sun begins cresting over the trees, you can see the smoke rise from the tall chimneys. You can hear kids cheer as they see the fresh snow on the ground. You can smell the aromas of bread and other baked goods as you enter the small village.
"Ahh, welcome to our little village, frined!" you hear from a gruff voice. The owner is a tall man with a thick bear and a wide grin. "You must be weary and hungry from your travels! Come, follow me to the Mist Veil Tavern!" As you travel the village streets, you can see the children throwing snowballs by the windmill, adults traveling to and fro, completing their daily tasks.
A hearty chorus of a ballad you don't recognize bursts from the tavern as the doors swing open. "Hey lads! Treat our guest to some of the village's finest, will ye?" shouts the gruff man beside you. "Here here!" is shouted as all those in the tavern greet you, with a pint of the finest brew. The weariness of your travels begin to slip away as you join in the merriment.
What drew me to this map is the rustic design of the houses. Just walking around through the village makes me think of the people that would be dashing around, complete chores or selling wares in the square. From the parquet flooring in the ind to the quaint watch tower guarding over the inhabitants, it makes me think of a close knit community. A place where everyone looks out for each other and celebrate during the holidays, being grateful for the land has provided.
As we get closer to the holiday season, think of all the benefits you have and be grateful for life brings. While we all have our rough times, there is always a light at the end. Without having the downs, we can't truly be grateful for the times that are good.
